Giving Back to the Society
That Builds With Us

At Madhav Udyog, corporate social responsibility is not a compliance exercise. It is an extension of the founding belief that a company should give back to the society it operates in by creating wealth, new opportunities, and world-class people. Our CSR work is concentrated where we believe the impact is deepest and most lasting - education, skill development, and natural resource conservation. These are not peripheral activities. They are a reflection of who we are.

Our Environment

Our galvanizing line operates with auto-controlled temperature-fired furnaces, optimising energy consumption while ensuring consistent coating quality. Process efficiency improvements are an ongoing priority across all production areas.

Madhav Udyog has invested in on-site solar power generation across our manufacturing facilities in Mandi Gobindgarh. With a combined installed capacity of 921 kW, our solar installations generate over 1,270 MWh of clean energy every year - offsetting 15% of our total electricity consumption and avoiding more than 10,400 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, equivalent to taking over 1,15,000 Delhi-Mumbai flights out of the skies. This directly reduces our dependence on grid power and lowers the carbon footprint of our manufacturing operations.

Madhav Udyog is currently in the process of obtaining Green Steel certification, a formal recognition of our commitment to environmentally responsible steel manufacturing. This certification, once awarded, will further strengthen our position as a manufacturer that meets the environmental procurement standards of our clients and contributes to a more sustainable steel industry.

Raw materials are sourced from SAIL, the Steel Authority of India Limited, ensuring traceable, quality-assured inputs from a responsible domestic supplier, reducing our dependence on imports and supporting the Indian steel ecosystem.

Water is a shared resource and a shared responsibility. Madhav Udyog has taken concrete steps towards water conservation in the communities around our operations. We have supported the development of a pond in a local village, a direct intervention that supports groundwater recharge, agricultural activity, and community water access. This work is carried out through direct company initiative, in partnership with the Art of Living Foundation, and through our association with Sanatan Dharam Kumar Sabha.

Our Community

Education — Our Primary Focus Education is the cornerstone of our social commitment. We believe that access to quality education is the most powerful and sustainable intervention a company can make in its community. An educated generation creates its own opportunities, reduces dependency, and strengthens the society around it. We work across both primary and secondary education.

Primary Education

We support primary schooling through two channels. Through our partnership with Sanatan Dharam Kumar Sabha (SDKS), we are actively involved in the development of school infrastructure and educational programmes for young children in the region. This includes support for ARKS and the development of a new school currently underway.

We also work with the Art of Living Foundation to bring structured early childhood programmes into schools. These include Medha Yoga, a programme designed to enhance focus, memory, and emotional balance in young children, and other programmes that bring a holistic dimension to primary education.

Secondary Education

At the secondary level, our commitment extends to ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent a deserving student from pursuing higher education. We support meritorious students from underserved backgrounds by sponsoring their college education, covering fees and related costs so that talent is never lost to circumstance.

Skill Development

Beyond formal education, we recognise that practical skills are what translate opportunity into livelihood. Through our partnership with the Art of Living Foundation, we support the Youth Leadership Training Programme, a programme that builds confidence, leadership, and life skills in young people who would otherwise not have access to such development. We sponsor participation for individuals who cannot afford the programme themselves.

Workforce Well-Being

Our 500 plus member workforce is our most important asset. We invest in skills training, safety protocols, and a working environment that upholds the dignity and well-being of every employee on site.

Our Governance

Our Motto

We are responsible for our actions and inactions. This is not a statement on a wall. It is the standard we hold ourselves to in every decision we make, every commitment we give, and every relationship we build.

Ethics and Integrity

Our decisions are governed by high standards of ethics across every function of the business. We are transparent with our clients, fair to our people, and accountable to the communities we operate in.

Our Approach and Partners

Direct Company Initiative

Where we have the capability and resources to act directly, we do. This includes infrastructure support, financial sponsorship of individuals, and project funding for community assets.

Art of Living Foundation

Our partnership with the Art of Living Foundation spans education, skill development, and water conservation, bringing structured and proven programmes to communities in our region.

Sanatan Dharam Kumar Sabha

Our partnership with SDKS is long-standing and deep-rooted in the community. Through ARKS and the development of a new school, we are contributing to an institution that serves the educational needs of the region across generations.

Why This Matters to Us

A community with access to education produces a more capable workforce. Skilled young people become contributors rather than dependents. Conserved water supports agricultural stability. Responsible governance builds institutional credibility. Each of these outcomes creates the conditions in which a business like ours can grow sustainably over the long term. Our commitment to responsible growth is not separate from our business strategy. It is part of it.
